Once you arrive, we greet you and ask if you'd like a refreshment. Before we escort you to your room, we'll show you around the lodge: the dining room, the WiFi password, where to dine and give you a map of Cormorant Island. Please remind us if we forget to give you a key as we're pretty informal here.
Nina and Scott have owned Alert Bay Lodge since 2000. We love seeing the connections our guests make with each other over breakfast and in the Great Room - there's more than a few international friendships have their origins at Alert Bay Lodge. We also enjoy connecting guests with the community and local artists, as evidenced by the local First Nations art that adorns our walls.
住宿信息
Originally a church, Alert Bay Lodge is a log building on the south shore of Cormorant Island. Sitting on one acre, the lodge features our Great Room with breathtaking views of Johnstone Strait and the Vancouver Island Mountain Range. This room is really the centre of the lodge with its 14’ cedar beams, library, dining tables, and several conversation nooks, including one by the wood stove. From this room as well, you can access the sundeck and view the marine traffic.
Our breakfasts are the best on the island - no continental fixings to pull out of your mini-fridge! Our breakfast choices: two eggs (any style), bacon, or sausage, toast and hashbrowns; steel cut oats with fresh fruit, walnuts and organic maple syrup; or pancakes with organic maple syrup. All entrees come with coffee, tea or hot chocolate. And, if you really want that continental breakfast, we can serve that too!
周边信息
We are in a residential area, two kilometers away from the small but busy downtown core. As Cormorant Island is only three miles long, everything is nearby: the Ecological Gardens, U'mista Cultural Centre, Culture Shock, the Big House and the world's tallest totem pole. There is virtually no traffic noise to interrupt your sleep.
