Welcome to the Sugarloaf Suite! Centrally located one block from the beach and nestled at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain Park in Nanaimo. Less than a 5 minute drive from the ferry terminal at Departure Bay and walking distance to the beach, amenities and local parks. Private covered parking area steps from the front door. Relax in the large private outdoor area by the fire bowl or cozy up inside in front of the fireplace. New appliances and radiant heat gas fireplace as well as laundry. The couch will fold out to a bed if you have children. The suite is situated in a residential neighborhood with a 7-11 and coffee shop 1 min drive. Everything else is a drive including the grocery store and downtown.

We enjoy sharing information about the neighborhood and our local favorites with our guests from restaurant recommendations to hiking trails, shopping, remote beach areas, salmon spawning areas, mountain biking, pubs, and local events. We enjoy gardening, mountain biking, camping, and traveling. Some guests have left local information in the guestbook and if you need any advice on what and where to go please don't hesitate to ask.

Departure Bay Area is one of the most desirable and safe neighborhoods in Nanaimo in close proximity to popular local parks including Sugarloaf Mountain and Wardropper dog park. Our home is a short walk from the beach and local amenities including convenience store, liquor store, the popular Drip coffee shop, Felice Cafe and hair salon. Visitors enjoy strolling the beach and sampling the rotating local food trucks.
