The hosts, Nadia and Sergio, are a young couple who love to travel, together they have visited more than 40 countries around the world. Both have been living together in Mergoscia since 2020, the village where Nadia grew up while Sergio is from Brazil. The two met in Indonesia when Nadia was traveling and when Sergio was living and studying in Australia. After three years of long-distance relationship, love and passion for travel, Nadia and Sergio made it possible to fulfill their dream in Mergoscia; to welcome guests from all over the world and in their own way, as they have appreciated on their travels; spontaneous, authentic, sustainable and sensitive to local tradition. Nadia and Sergio know lots of tips and suggestions for excursions and activities in and around Mergoscia. Welcome to Casa Bruja! A traditional Ticino rustic house that was bought in 1962 by a German writer and journalist as a writing retreat. It was given the name 'House of the Witch' because in German, the Spanish word 'Bruja' sounds like 'Bruchbude' or 'Bruchbude', as it once sounded. From there, the Hamburg family and their friends have always come on holiday, rediscovering in the Bruja house that convivial and simple atmosphere of the past and at the same time being able to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the place, admiring the splendid view of the Verzasca dam and the two lakes surrounded by mountains. On arrival you will be welcomed by Nadia and Sergio, a local couple and attentive hosts who will be available for you at any time. The rustic house is divided into two two-storey buildings with an inner courtyard, a small garden with a stone table and a panoramic view. The house also has a private covered parking area with space for two cars and a large outdoor terrace. The house offers two double rooms with single beds, a bathroom with a bathtub, a kitchen with a dining room and a living room with a fireplace. The rooms are located on the second floor and can be reached via an external staircase. The bathroom is located separately in the second building and can also be reached from outside the courtyard. On arrival we will give you a personalised guide with typical recipes, local stories and advice on what to do and see in Mergoscia. In addition, you will be able to buy a selection of km0 products and a choice of groceries, in case you haven't had a chance to go shopping before your arrival.

Mergoscia is a picturesque mountain village situated on a sunny slope in the Verzasca Valley. The panorama, tranquillity and nature are the elements that characterise it. Today it has about 200 permanent residents and from here it is possible to set off on various excursions: Monti di Lego, Corippo-Lavertezzo, Cardada - Cimetta, Monte Trosa, Alpe di Bietri, Diga della Verzasca and many more!
