My name is Sylvia. I am the owner of El Jardin de Playa Negra, which I took over from the previous owner Alfredo in May 2024. I was born and raised in Germany and lived in Switzerland for more than 16 years. All my life, I have been following my career in the financial sector. However, it was always my dream to have my own little Airbnb one day. I’ve always loved travelling and visited Costa Rica and especially Puerto Viejo many times before I moved here. With every visit I fell more and more in love with this amazing place, the beautiful nature and beaches, the wildlife, the fantastic food and the people. I knew, this is the place where I want to make my dream come true. And here I am now, the new owner of El Jardin de Playa Negra, very grateful and blessed to be able to follow my dream. In the Caribbean of Costa Rica there are infinite possibilities both for those who just want to relax on one of the beaches available in the thirty km of coastline, and for those who want to go shopping in Puerto Viejo, or dedicate themselves to sporting activities such as rafting, canoeing, canopy or simply visit the beautiful parks of Cahuita and Manzanillo or pay a visit to the Indigenous community of Bri Bri. Our favorite tour is in the Talamanca mountains, rich in vegetation and waterfalls.
