Finca Mango is a peaceful tropical paradise on 40 acres a short drive away from San Isidro de El General. The property features a pleasant climate year round and access to the hiking trails of a neighboring private 1500 acre rainforest reserve (same proprietor). The Refugio San Antonio team is protecting a vast contiguous forest area of 1500 acres of premontane old growth primary as well as secondary rainforest and cloud forest within the Path of the Tapir Biological Corridor and the UNESCO Savegre Biosphere Reserve. The reserve is managed by locals with the goal of preserving and expanding this important buffer zone through reforestation and natural succession. Interested nature lovers can stay in the traditional country house, built at the highest point of the reserve or in Finca Mango located at the base of the reserve. Our local caretaker José can guide adventurous nature lovers to the beauties of the reserve on one of the many private trails.
