Kurt Schoop & Clayton Lasten are the hotel owners of Bario Hotel. They are both local entrepreneurs with a strong connection to the neighbourhood. They have a passion for the Neighbourhood of Ser'i Otrobanda. 
Most of the people that work here are from Otrobanda, hence the atmosphere is local and authentic. Come as you are, and hopefully you'll fall in love with Curaçao and Otrobanda in its authenticity like we do. Also as this a local area, you will sometimes hear dogs barking or people singing loud. But don't worry, nothing that will disturb your stay with us. We promote experienced based tourism, inviting you to stay with us and be part of the community. 
 In order to promote development in the area they have started an event, named Kaya Kaya Street Party. They call it a sexy community building tool, because in the months before the party they focus on building up the area, cleaning the streets, building infrastructures with a long-term self-sustaining system together with local artists. The party? Filled with live music, art and delicious food by the locals for locals. Kaya Kaya Street party is held in the last weeks of August. Check it out on social media!

Bario Hotel is one of the 860 monuments in the city center of Curaçao listed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Bario Hotel is a beautiful monument with historical architecture and bright colors in Ser’i Otrobanda; which is one of the most authentic neighbourhoods in Curaçao, known for its deep history, beautiful buildings and vibrant rhythm. Being part of the city center it is close to the beaches and other activities. 
At Bario Hotel each accommodation has its own magical rustic character. Staying at Bario you will find a great mixture between urban side fused with the extraordinary monumental aspects of Curaçao. Also there is a nice infinity pool to cool down during the warm days or nights. Ser'i Otrobanda is one of the most authentic neighbourhoods on Curaçao, also known as the cultural area. The area is filled with beautiful authentic buildings, situated in the World Heritage Site on Curaçao. You will be staying in a World Heritage site, and it is a 5 minutes walk to the city. The neighbourhood has a nice combination of tourists, local people and offices. Otrobanda is constantly in development, with a lot of positive things happening. Stroll around the city, take memorable pictures in front of the beautiful murals and experience the beautiful monuments and culture Curaçao has to offer! Very central to public transport, close to Emma bridge and harbour. Buses from Otrobanda will take you all the way to Westpunt, if you want to go to Mambo and Jan Thiel you can take one of the shuttle buses at the Punda bus station which is a 10 minute walk We recommend our guests to rent a car, it gives you the opportunity to see more in a day too! We offer private parking at the hotel.
