We are a couple in the seventies living in the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia. Nicos, my husband, was born and grew up in this village and I was born in Nicosia. I fell in love with Arodes village at first sight, just as I did with Nicos fifty years ago. Ever since we live between Nicosia and Arodes, enjoying every moment in the village. Calmness, cool weather in Summertime, Nature at its best all around the year, and a lot of happy family memories with our children.

It's an old stone house built in 1925 which was almost completely ruined when we bought it. We renovated in the exact way that was originally designed and decided to put it on rental for leisure. We want other people to enjoy it having their holidays visiting the surrounding area which has to offer a lot to visitors. The house is decorated with comfortable new style furniture but we also added some old-style unique pieces just to remind visitors that they are staying in a village. The walls are made of stone, they are about 50cm thick so the summertime high temperatures stay outside. Furthermore, the whole house is fully air-conditioned and in the bedrooms, there are ceiling fans for better air circulation. For wintertime, there is heating and an awesome fireplace that gives a romantic atmosphere.

In the "neighbourhood" one can find a few other similar villages, but mainly, visitors come in this area to spend time in the Akamas Nature Park which expands from the outskirts of the village up to the North-West part of Cyprus called Akamas Peninsula. Ideal for nature hikers who want to explore gorges, study rare plants (in Springtime) found only in this area, witness a breathtaking sunset.
