Tzionis' Traditional Stonehouse is located in Lympia village. Due to the central location of the village, it constitutes a great place to stay for people travelling around the island. It was built by my grade grandparents about 150 years ago, rebuilt by my parents about 60 years ago and has been recently renovated with care on its cultural heritage. it is constituted by 3 rooms, 2 rooms with double beds and a room with two single beds. At the back side of the house there is large in-house court.
My name is George Tzionis (Tigris) and I am your personal host and guide. I studied in Austria Hotel Management and Tourism. I had been a hotel manager in various hotels in Cyprus for 10 years. I then worked for 15 years as a Department Manager in one of the largest trading companies in Cyprus. I am Fluent in Greek, English and German. I am married Ismini, who is a pharmacist, and I have 3 children. My eldest is studied Maths in the U.K, my daughter is studied Physiotherapy in the Czech Republic and my youngest son is still at high school. Visiting Cyprus with me involves staying at the two houses I own in Lympia and Palechori village, along with my personalized service throughout the whole stay. A program is organized prior to the visit with the agreement of all parties and l will drive you to the different locations.
Lymbia The village is situated in the heart of the island very close to Nicosia and Larnaca. Its proximity to these two major cities enabled its growth. Lympia used to cultivate vegetables and citrus trees but nowadays the villagers are mostly occupied with livestock. In the eastern side of the village, there was found a pre-christian settlement with ancient tombs. This location is connected to the village’s name as it was called ‘Olympia’. The village was established by refuges of nearby settlements that were destroyed throughout the years or because of different causes. It is speculated that the village was established at the end of the 16th century. In Lympia a visitor can enjoy the magnificent scenery with its white naked hills that resemble a lunar landscape.
