Enjoy a stay in an entire Renaissance tower dating from 1543, built on the initiative of Vilém Trčka of Lípa. The tower includes a cosy sitting room with deep leather armchairs, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee or tea in the quiet of the historic interior. In the cellar, you will find a private wine cellar surrounded by the legend of “Lewd Jan”, offering more than one hundred carefully selected wines and a fine selection of cognacs. The entire tower also serves as a small museum and gallery. You can explore a collection of artworks and historical weapons closely connected to the history of the tower and the town of Jičín.

Jičín, the natural gateway to the Bohemian Paradise, is a town with a strong sense of place and an exceptionally rich history. Its historic centre, protected as an urban conservation area, forms a coherent and remarkably well preserved ensemble of architecture of outstanding artistic and historical value. At the heart of the town lies the monumental Valdštejn Square, lined with arcades and Baroque burgher houses. The dominant feature of the square is the château, uniquely connected by a covered staircase to the Church of St James the Greater. An unmistakable symbol of Jičín is the Valdice Gate, a viewing tower offering far reaching views over the town and the surrounding landscape. At the opposite end of the square stands the Baroque Church of St Ignatius. From the historic centre, a romantic four row lime tree avenue leads to the Valdštejn Loggia and the Libosad park, together forming a carefully conceived Baroque landscape composition and ranking among the most impressive sites in the area. Jičín is also known as the town of fairy tales. It was here that the writer Václav Čtvrtek spent his childhood, drawing inspiration from the local atmosphere for his stories of Rumcajs, Manka and Cipísek. The fairy tale spirit remains a natural part of everyday life and local traditions to this day.
