The Schliemann Museum with the famous Trojan Horse is only approx. 600 metres away, a restaurant approx. 1 km and a beautiful swimming area on the Mühlensee approx. 5 km. Shopping facilities can be found in Möllenhagen (6 km) or in Penzlin (10 km). The popular Berlin-Copenhagen long-distance cycle route runs directly through the village. The centrally heated non-smoking single room was renovated in 2022 and is accessible via a separate entrance (stairs). There is a small seating area, fridge, kettle, capsule coffee machine, flat-screen TV and a bathroom with shower/WC. There is ample parking, bicycle storage, a playground with information board about the national park, a cot on request and free WiFi. Ankershagen is primarily associated with the famous archaeologist and Troy discoverer Heinrich Schliemann, who spent his childhood in the vicarage opposite the church.
