The seaside resort of Ueckermünde, the easternmost German harbour town on the Szczecin Lagoon, has a population of approx. 12,000. In recent years it has developed into a highly recommended holiday destination. There is an old town worth seeing with cafés, restaurants and shopping facilities, a marina on the Uecker with boat hire and passenger boat trips to Poland and the island of Usedom, a beautiful zoo and a well-kept lido with spa gardens and promenade on the Szczecin Lagoon with restaurants, beach chair hire and mini golf.
