A place full of history, charm and soul – stylish holiday apartments in a historic manor house Welcome to Herrenhaus Hohewarte – a lovingly restored manor dating back around 300 years, located in the district St. Gertrud of Lübeck. Nestled in a green, almost park-like setting, the house today offers two unique holiday apartments for travelers who value peace, culture and character. The estate has a long and eventful history: first mentioned in documents in the 13th century, the original manor was burned down during the Thirty Years’ War around 1630, later rebuilt, and inhabited for centuries by notable personalities, including several mayors of Lübeck. Today, we, the Vogten family, live here in the fourth generation, and we are delighted to welcome our guests in this special atmosphere. The Apartments Guests can choose between two stylishly furnished apartments of different sizes: • The smaller apartment on the first floor (approx. 30 m²) is ideal for solo travelers or couples. A bright living-sleeping area, a well-equipped kitchen and a modern shower room provide everything you need for a comfortable stay in a compact space. • The larger apartment on the ground floor (approx. 85 m²) features three rooms, a spacious kitchen with dining area, and a modern shower room. Up to four people can stay here comfortably – perfect for families, friends, or couples who enjoy a little more space and comfort. Both apartments combine historic charm with modern comfort – with warm materials, thoughtful details and a tranquil atmosphere. Location & Surroundings The manor is located in St. Gertrud, one of the most beautiful districts of Lübeck: peaceful, green, yet close to the city. Only about 200 meters away, the Wakenitz River – also known as the “Amazon of the North” – invites you to enjoy walks, cycling and canoe tours. The historic old town of Lübeck can be reached by bike or bus within a few minutes – or on foot with a pleasant 30-minute walk. Within walking distance, you will also find numerous shops, supermarkets, bakeries, cafés and restaurants. The weekly market at Kaufhof is also not far away. Arrival & Facilities Parking spaces for our guests are available directly at the house, along with a 22 kW charging station for electric cars. Cozy seating areas in front of and behind the house invite you to relax outdoors – perfect for enjoying the peace and nature. On request, we are also happy to provide a barbecue grill for your use. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi as well as basic essentials – such as coffee and toilet paper – are of course included in the price. Whether for a cultural short trip, a longer stay, or a romantic getaway – here you will stay in style, surrounded by tranquility and history. A warm welcome – we look forward to your visit!
