Today, the estate is owned by the Danish Nature Foundation, which was founded by the Danish Society for Nature Conservation. For this we owe a big thank you to a very special woman. Miss Ellen Fuglede was the last and only heir to Naturdestination Skovsgaard. As she had no heirs, it was very important to her that the place could be preserved as a whole. Therefore, she bequeathed the estate and its 389 hectares to the Danish Society for Nature Conservation, which was later taken over by the Danish Nature Foundation.
