My name is Patricia and I am a decorator. I am married and have 2 girls ages 9 and 12. My husband and I decided to buy an apartment to renovate it and we thought it would be a good idea to rent it as a tourist apartment. The apartment is located in the neighborhood of El Ensanche. The Ensanche is today the commercial and financial center of the city, although it has not always been. In fact, the Bilbao Ensanche Plan on the Vega de Abando is approved in 1876 as part of a process of great economic momentum. Then, the Villa is chosen capital of Bizkaia and undertakes the industrial development of the metropolitan area through mines, iron and steel industry, shipping companies ... Banks and the Stock Exchange appear, and the city triples its population in just twenty years. For this reason, Bilbao needs to overcome the limits set by the Casco Viejo and Bilbao La Vieja, until then its two population centers, and hit a jump over the Ria.
