The whole house Cal Viola was almost lost and destroyed some 20 years ago, when we bought it, it was a ruin but still with some very old substance. specially wood. So we took to renew it and got four wonderful apartments, fully independant and with lots of details, old and new. The house is located between two streets. So from one street it has to stories and from the other five. Torroja is on a hill. From the apartments you have wonderful views to the high trees at the village fountain space.

My Name is Montserrat, I am a catalan woman but living in Germany with my german husband since more than 45 years. The father of my mother was born and lived in Torroja del Priorat, so I got a deep connection to the village since childhood and later on my husband was "introduced" to the Priorat, which he loves as much as myself. We love meeting guests when we are in Torroja (some 4 times a year) so we can go hiking with our guests if they wish. Of course they can listen to our experiences, our most loved places and all kind of stories about the village and the Priorat. The Region is well known by its excellent red wines, so we can give some Special Information about the wineries around Torroja.

The whole village of Torroja is a work of art to me. I walk through the quiet streets and remember all the stories I have heard, look at the old buildings which are mainly well kept and take pictures over and over again. Torroja lies in the Priorat region, famous for its red wine and its peculiar landscape. take the time to walk through the wineyards or hike to our holy mountain the Montsant, it is another world!! In the Priorat the air smells different, the roads are empty, so you can cycle all over the places, Iberian villages more than 2000 years old, changing landscapes, good Restaurants, Swimming pools in all the small villages and lots of things to see, but also very important! RELAX and allow yourself to do nothing, maybe reading at the terrace with a good cup of wine, visiting some Bodegas is also a good alternative, just do as you like and forget your watch or your cellphone!
