Between the mountains and the sea; we are at 800 meters above sea level and the recently asphalted windy road up the mountain delivers amazing views. At 1100 meters we own a vineyard where our guests are very welcome to spend time. There is a large table where you can have a lunch, an aperitive or just sit to have a good time The views are amazing and you won´t find a place in the world more quiet and serene. Polopos is a quiet village surrounded by nature. If you enjoy mountain walks, reading, writing or even painting, Casa 3 is your place to be. We organize art and cooking workshops and wine tastings for 4 to 6 people. There is a great restaurant in the village called Julia, open from Tuesday till Sunday from 10 in the morning till midnight. Art and hospitality go hand in hand at Casa 3 Polopos. If we don´t host tourists we host artists from all over the world all year round who leave their mark with their art works in the house and around the village. We renovated the house since 2019. We respected its history and kept characteristic Alpujarran features like irregular wooden beams on the ceilings, authentic old doors and the idiosyncrasies of a centuries old building. At the same time all rooms in Casa 3 are equipped with modern conveniences such as air conditioning, heating, wifi, luxury bathrooms and very comfortable beds.

Hi and welcome to Casa 3 Polopos! We are Thysa and Wynand, your hosts. We are originally from the Netherlands, but we lived all over the world and traveled many places before settling in our peaceful mountain village with its mesmerizing view over the mediterranean sea. Thysa is a paper cutout artist and children's books illustrator and Wynand a cookbook writer and wine maker. We combine our passions for art, good food and hospitality in Casa 3. We enjoy sharing our experiences, insights and knowledge of the region, but we are also interested in the stories and experiences of our guests. We regularly invite artists to live and work with us for a certain period. We organise exhibitions and concerts and art and cooking workshops. Our dream is to welcome more and more artists and make Polopos an artistic center in the Alpujarra, beautifully situated between Spain's highest mountainrange and the vast mediterranean sea. It helps if you like driving in the mountains, because we are at 800 meters above sea level. You will find the Mediterranean Sea spread out before you and the beach a mere 15 minute drive away. At the same time you are in the middle of nature, in a peaceful white mountain village with hiking trails all around, and the perfect starting point for the famous wine route of the Sierra de Contraviesa. We bought a large vineyard right above the village recently. A great place for our guests to have a wine tasting or just sit and enjoy the view and tranquility. In the village you will find a bar-restaurant and a bar. There is no supermarket, but the baker comes up 6 days a week, fruit and vegetables are sold twice a week and the fishmonger comes once a week. Driving down the mountain on the recently asphalted road you might get stuck behind a herd of goats for a few minutes. Yes, time moves slower in the Alpujarra. Just relax and enjoy the space and tranquility of this magical region! You can rent bikes nearby or go diving, paddle surfing and even paragliding. Granada with the beautiful Alhambra is an hour away, the ski slopes an hour and a half. You will find many good restaurants and chiringuitos along the coast and some beautiful undisturbed beaches. In just over half an hour you can go shopping in Motril, go for a stroll through uniquely built Salobrena with its Arabic fortress, visit artist and hippy town Orgiva and the inspiring Alpujarra valley.
