Morten and Halla
A 17th century house steeped in history, with 3 bedrooms and space to accommodate up to 8 people. Currently undergoing a full renovation while preserving the beautiful old style and charm. Will be finished September 2025. The pictures are from various renovation stages, but the property will be fully furnished before opening.
We are a couple with three children between us. Halla is from the Faroe Islands and Morten moved from Denmark at a young age. Morten is a carpenter, and Halla works in environmental research. We hope to provide you with a comfortable home away from home, while exploring the islands. We are always happy to help where we can but will give you space unless otherwise stated.
The old town of Tórshavn, made up of Reyn and Undir Ryggi, is a quaint neighbourhood characterised by black-tarred wooden homes with white-framed windows and grassy roofs. Inhabitants continue to reside in these historic houses. Take a leisurely walk along the picturesque, narrow, winding streets to enjoy a delightful blend of the old and the new. As you wander through Reyn, you'll arrive at Tinganes at the pier's end. Tinganes serves as the historical heart of the nation's capital. This village-like neighbourhood separates two harbours and is characterised by charming red grass-roofed buildings that house the Faroese Home Rule government (Føroya Landsstýri).
