Get the most out of your World War I trip! Our B&B 14-18 Meuse-Argonne, in the department 'Meuse', is the perfect place to come to for rest and relaxation, to get away from your busy life for a while and enjoy the peace and tranquility of North-East France. A warm welcome awaits you in Montfaucon d'Argonne, a quiet and friendly country village, situated in the wonderful rolling landscape of the Meuse, typically French and totally different to what you know. Montfaucon d'Argonne is less than a 4 hour drive from Calais, about a 3 hour drive from the Somme and 1.5 hours from Reims, capital of Champagne. The village lies between sloping farmland, pastures and forests. An oasis of peace and quiet in countryside steeped in the history of the First World War. Monuments like Battlefield Verdun, Romagne sous Montfaucon and Varennes, the site of the Pennsylvania WWI Monument as well as being the place where Louis XVI was captured in 1791, are all very near. Larger, historical cities like Verdun (30 km), Montmédy (38 km) and Bar-le-Duc (90 km) are also within reach. From Verdun you can reach Paris by TGV in one hour. A perfect environment for a short holiday.

History is alive in Montfaucon d'Argonne! Our village is situated near the Argonne Forest and offers you various places of interest to visit and explore (Verdun, St. Mihiel eo). Maarten is on hand to tell you more about the actions of World War I that took place in the local area and we can also offer you a guided tour of the immediate surroundings of the village or guided tours in the surrounding area. The battlefield of Verdun is just around the corner.
