3 place des arbres is an eighteenth century former presbytery house situated on a quiet street in the heart of a medieval market town, famous for tapestry production. We have three large rooms and an apartment, renovated and decorated sympathetically to retain the charm and character of the house. It is located just 100 metres from the weekly market, and the town centre amenities. Breakfast is available at a supplimentary charge of 8 euros per person per day. There are no televisions in the rooms (or in the property) . There is free wifi and we provide books you can borrow (in both English and French)
We do not accept payment by credit card. We accept French cheques, Cheques Vacances, and cash. For deposits we accept bank transfers and paypal (fees maybe applicable)
For the comfort of all our guests smoking is not allowed in the house
Bruce and Andrea are both former National Health Service employees from the UK. We moved here in 2007, and love it! Both of us are vegetarian (Andrea has been a vegetarian for 30 years). Bruce loves needle-felting characters, decoration and jewellery from wool (and takes part in the regular wool and felt festivals, held in Felletin). We love animals and have 2 dogs and 2 cats.
Felletin is famous as the birthplace of tapestry (it is just 10km from Aubusson): the largest tapestry in the world was made here, by the Pintons (we recommend the guided visit). The new Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie is located just 10k from us. Felletin has a weekly market, every Friday. There are bars, shops (including antique shops, gift shops, bakers etc), restaurants, banks, a music venue and a tourist office in the town, and two artisanal breweries. Felletin has a range of festivals throughout the year including folk music and dance, wool festival, book festival, and music events. Felletin is surrounded by beautiful countryside, ideal for walkers, cyclists (if you don't mind some steep hills!), and motorcyclists. The region boasts many lakes, both small and large, some with beaches and children's play areas.
