The neighbourhood has visually barely changed for many centuries with ancient colombage timber framed houses all around the adjacent streets as you travel down you get to the place Fontaine de Guimard, aside the ever so beautiful panorama of the river with the town beyond and the fairytale 8th Century Roman bridge across the river Vienne. The nearest bar is 100m walk away by the 8th century Roman bridge a great welcome and amazing historical views of the towns architecture whilst having a beer! Free parking is ample and very close to the house and can be within sight. The town and rural France is incredibly safe. A very small walk down the adjacent street and under the road bridge you will arrive at a beautiful peaceful picnic area aside the river vienne where you can happily dine out with a picnic and bottle of wine. This area becomes also a kayak and boat hire zone in summer months. A further small walk and you get to the beautiful open air swimming baths, an amazing facility beside the calm flow of the river Vienne it has slides and diving boards and grassed sunbathing area.
