The auberge du Noyer was built in 1854 and it was a large family home until 5 years ago when it was tastefully renovated and tured into a restaurant and bar, we have now added three delightful en suite bedrooms which are tastefully decorated and original features remain, the bar and restaurant have log burners, traditional wood and stone floors. and are also warm and cosy. we have a large outside terrace for al fresco dining and entertainment during the long summer months.

The Auberge du Noyer is set in the rural countryside of the Charente department and bordering the departments of Vienne and Deux Sevres. We are 6 minutes from the major route N10 and from the market town of Ruffec, We are nestled between sleeply villages and beautiful countryside. We are 15 minutes from the historic villages of Nanteuil en Vallee and Verteuil sur Charente where you will find an amazing chateau and gardens and lovely cafe"s and restaurants by the river Charente, we are also 20 minutes from Vallee des Singes (valley of the monkeys) a must day out for adults and children, 35 minutes from the historic cities of Poitiers or Angouleme with amazing architecture, churches, museums and gardens, you can enjoy strolling around the old quarters of these cities. Also at poitiers you have the amazing Futuroscope. Just over an hour away you have the Historic village of Oradour sur Glane and the city of Limoges
