Hello from Mountain Base. We are a rentals company who offer a carefully selected portfolio of self-catering chalets and apartments in the Chamonix Valley. Operating since 2004, we are one of the few British run businesses in Chamonix to hold the Carte Professionnelle which obliges us to maintain a Garantie Financière (cash bond) to ensure all our clients are financially protected. Our philosophy is simply excellent professionalism and service. From a speedy response to any questions through to a dedicated in-resort service, our team are at your disposal. Our office is in central Chamonix, so we are on hand to advise you throughout your stay and organise any little extras that you need. Mountain Base's services include everything from pre-ordering lift passes through to arrangements for catering, equipment hire, ski lessons and activities such as husky sledging and paragliding.

Neighbourhood information

Set at the base of Mont Blanc the skiing in Chamonix has a reputation for being some of the best in the world. Chamonix's varied terrain is an enticement to both adventurous skiers and boarders who are attracted to high-altitude, steep off-piste runs, as well as those who prefer to cruise the pistes and enjoy the views with a hot chocolate at a slope side restaurant. When the snow has melted, Chamonix has a wealth of activities to offer including hiking, paragliding, mountaineering, trail running, climbing, mountain biking and white water rafting. There are also more general sports and leisure activities available such as tennis and squash, bowling, swimming and fitness. The car-free centre of town is full of atmosphere and very cosmopolitan, with cobbled streets and squares and beautiful old buildings built around the fast-running glacial river, the Arve. The mood is lively and bustling with a good variety of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes.
