We have always wanted to own a home in France and had spent many years looking in different parts of the country. When we made our first visit to Burgundy in 2013, we knew this was the place we wanted to be and were lucky enough to find our house in the charming wine village of Pommard. The house was derelict and in need of complete renovation which was ideal as it gave us the chance to create a beautiful apartment for ourselves as well as a separate, self-contained apartment for friends and family to visit as well as holiday rentals.
Charmot de Pommard is a charming one bedroom, single level apartment located in a 17th century building formerly occupied by Jean Michelot, a well-known local wine maker.
Completely renovated in 2015, Charmot de Pommard offers quiet, modern luxury and comfort only a short distance away from the shops and restaurants of Pommard as well as the beautiful vineyards that surround the village.
Limestone floors, oak timbers and stone walls are featured in the apartment along with all the amenities that will make your stay a pleasant one. It is an ideal “pied á terre” for a couple wishing to experience and explore the delights of Burgundy.
When my wife Jill and I visited Burgundy for the first time we instantly fell in love with the place and rented properties similar to those that we now offer to our guests.
In 2018 we were lucky enough to move over to the Cote D'Or permanently and we live in a lovely property overlooking the vineyards of Santenay and are therefore close on hand if you need help or support with anything during your visit.
At the end of 2018 we took over the ownership of the Location Burgundy business of which this property is a part and we feel very fortunate that we can carry on the great work of the previous owners and meet guests who love the area and all it has to offer as much as we do
Nestled among some of the world’s finest vineyards, Pommard offers the perfect holiday home location for wine lovers. Immerse yourself in French village life. Stroll through quiet lanes of picturesque stone houses, stop by the boulangerie each morning for your croissants and baguette. Enjoy a lazy lunch on the terrace of the Café du Pont and wine tasting at the Chateau de Pommard. Time seems to stand still in the vineyards and historic villages of the Côte de Beaune.
