Situated in a beautiful corner of the Vienne region; Chateau Mareuil is a small and perfectly formed ancient chateau which dates back to the XVth century. The castle itself is flanked by picturesque outbuildings, a Donjon and a pretty gite. There is also a newly refurbished studio apartment on site. Chateau Mareuil is set in luscious gardens with an abundance of fruit and flowers and has it's own private river frontage where bathing is possible in season. Relax in your beautiful suite, our elegant and comfortable salon, on the terrace, in the "sky" garden or take a stroll along our private river! Our Swimming Pool is brand new and total luxury measuring an impressive 12m x 6m!

We are Belinda & Lee Prince, we bought the lovely Chateau Mareuil in April 2015. We are totally in love with France and all things French and have decided to turn our passion into our business. At Chateau Mareuil, we are focussed on providing luxury accommodation and delicious food with the highest levels of customer satisfaction – we will do everything we can to meet your expectations. We have created 3 charming guest suites in the Chateau itself. The Princess Suite sleeps 6 with a beautiful contemporary bathroom of the highest standard. The Prince Suite sleeps 3 and boasts a designer bathroom created by artisan craftsmen - this Suite is very suitable for honeymooners! The Petite Princess is a pretty bedroom at ground floor level with 2 vintage French double beds and an en-suite shower room. We have recently completed a Bar/Games room in the former Chapel with an American pool table which is available to you during your stay. A luxury 12m x 6m swimming pool is available to our guests in season. Two recent barn conversions which have been renovated to a high standard complete the accommodation, The Petit Prince Studio sleeps 2 and the Petit Donjon sleeps 5.

Chateau Mareuil is situated in the Vienne region of the Poitou Charentes, a beautiful part of France just south of the Loire Valley and north of the Dordogne. The climate is "Mediterranean", long hot Summers and very short sharp cold Winters. We have known the temperature in August to hover around 36 degrees. Set in beautiful gardens, each season brings forth something lovely to look at and eat! The Chateau is set high and built upon a rock with lovely views over the surrounding countryside and our own private river. Nearest towns are:- Lussac les Eglises - nearest shops and bars La Trimouille Le Dorat Montmorillon (Station & Shopping) Bellac (Shopping) Poitiers (Airport & Futuroscope) Limoges (Airport) We are surrounded by pretty villages and there are several lakes for swimming and water sports within a short distance. There are beautiful chateaux to see and visit at Bourg Archambault, Azay Le Ferron and Lignac (Chateau Guillaume). We can highly recommend the Michelin acclaimed restaurant "Les Orangeries" at Lussac les Chateaux.
