Situated in the beautiful grounds of La Maison Ribotteau, the apartment provides comfortable and relaxing accommodation. The gîte is independent with its own outside terrace and guests can also use the main house terrace, gardens and swimming pool. The apartment is centrally heated with a well-equipped kitchenette, laundry facilities and secure parking. The property is situated within 300 metres of the town centre and its amenities (large supermarket, a number of restaurants, etc.) and even closer to the large new municipal swimming pool with slides. It is also within easy walking distance of the River Vienne (with 2 riverside restaurants) and its associated leisure activities (watersports, parcours through the trees, etc.).

L'Isle Jourdain is well located to explore this area of Vienne. The 19th century viaduct over the river offers spectacular views (and bungee jumping in the season) and there are a variety of watersports available on the river and Lake Chardes, from kayaking to water-skiing. There are numerous walking and cycling trails in the area - bicycles can be hired locally (please enquire) and we have some cycles we can lend to guests. A little further afield there are the cities of Poitiers and Limoges to visit, along with Montmorillon (city of books and a macaron museum). Confolens hosts an international arts festival every August and Saint Savin is a UNESCO world heritage site. For the children, a visit to Vallée des Singes (for the monkeys), La Planéte des Crocodiles/Terre de Dragons or a ride on one of the velo-rails (Confolens or Chauvigny) is always a success. And, of course, there are the markets to visit - for example Poitiers and Chauvigny.
