We are in love with the charming village of Lastours set in the valley next to the River Orbiel climbing up to the beautiful ancient church and up to the Belvedere where you can take in the view of all 4 Cathar Castles set in breathtaking scenery, rugged beauty and incredible choice of walks. It reminds us of Middle Earth ,its a magical place. Its fantastic that it feels so wild yet in 20 minutes you can pop to dine in town or Le Citè ,along the Canal du Midi or have tapas in Trebes ,lovely drive along the river too. We have two three * Gîtes in the village of the 4 Châteaux of Lastours and a 4* 1 bedroom luxury apartment in the Bastide in Carcassonne . We go all out to make your visit comfortable, memorable and hope all guests leave wanting to return ,Aude is France in miniature! The 4 Cathar Chateaux dominate the village, it’s a marvellous hike up of about 2 and a half hours. In the village you can profit from the 3 restaurants one a Michelin* fine dining, 2 Brasseries and the Boulanger who offers light lunches on a glorious riverside terrace .Visit the Minervois just 15 mins away, the truffle museum, the book village of Montolieu,delightful Cuxac Cabardes. The UNESCO Médiévale Cite of Carcassone is 20 min away and has many good restaurants walking or hiring a boat along the Canal du Midi is on the way into Carcassonne.
