Sitting pretty, opposite the ancient church and right on the river - Jan's Place is comfortable quirky and spotless. In what was once the village Inn you've a little warren of downstairs rooms with loads of books ,French,Danish and English antiques; country breakfasts and dinners,served in the kitchen or on one of the terraces. Peaceful bedrooms up winding stairs, with gentle views; two cosy under the eaves- and bathrooms both properly modern and pleasingly retro. Take to the river, go cycling, explore Besancon and the vineyards of the Côte d'Or .

I owned a small but lovely one room Bed and Breakfast in Amsterdam for 8 years.
After 30 years working as chef the cuisine > I decided It was time to change .
So I renovated our 300 year old Family holiday house for one year and opened last September.
Living here is a dream come true, this place was already for 18 years in our family.
I know a lot about this region and places of interest .
My hobby's gardening and cooking are very welcome here .

1 Take a car or bike tour through the UNESCO World heritage listed vineyards along the great Burgundy wine road, winding its way through the famous wine villages . Visit the wine cellars for some fine wine tasting
2 There are plenty of special historical cities to explore . Medieval Autun & Beaune with its splendid Hospice Dieux, the former capital of the dukes of Burgundy Dijon, and the beautiful citadel in Besancon
3 The nearby Jura mountain range offers a variety of things to do, such as hiking, strolling
through the small wine village of Arbois and Chateau Chalon. Experience the former splendor of the salt mining town of Salin-les-bains
4 Visit the écomusée in the old chateau of Pierre de Bresse and complete your tour with a special lunch at the Hotel de la Poste ( a bib gourmand Michelin awarded)
5 get active , hop on a bike, and choose one of 5 itineraries from the 800 km Burgundy biking circuit. The routes are most often located along canals on towpaths, on former railways and may even cut across vineyards and country landscapes
6 Relax with a book and a glass of wine on the river side terrace at my place and enjoy a homecooked meal
