Company information

Located in the heart of Bordeaux’s smallest appellation, Canon Fronsac, La Closerie de Fronsac has been welcoming guests to its family-run wine estate for over 30 years. Surrounded by vineyards, in a historic hamlet dominated by a medieval mill and a former Knights of Malta hospice, the house offers a unique opportunity to experience life on a working wine estate. With its enclosed 0.47-hectare vineyard, it is the smallest château in the appellation, nestled in the rolling hills of Fronsac and Canon Fronsac. This discreet and picturesque vineyard, often referred to as the “Tuscany of Bordeaux,” enchants visitors with its scenic views, Romanesque churches, and peaceful atmosphere—ideal for hiking and cycling enthusiasts. The estate combines an 18th-century Girondine manor with a 17th-century winemaker’s house, standing as a testament to Bordeaux’s golden age. Guided by the rhythm of the seasons and vineyard work, your stay offers a living insight into life on a wine estate in the 21st century. With just five guest accommodations, an intimate atmosphere, and a preserved natural setting, La Closerie de Fronsac is a unique, authentic, and welcoming retreat in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards.
