This beautifully renovated holiday home sits within the peaceful beauty of the former grounds of a French chateau. It comprises 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large living room with log burner and home theatre, luxury granite finished kitchen dining room and veranda with views of the Pyrenees. Facilities include a 12 x 6m heated swimming pool, wi-fi and electric car charger unit (supplement). The property is close to wonderful local restaurants, markets, mountains, lakes and ocean beaches!
We moved to Bonnefont in August 2021, having dreamed of a life in beautiful South West France for many years, and having previously lived in the UK, U.S. and Switzerland. We look forward to welcoming you to La Joie de Vivre and making your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
The property lies on the outskirts of the village of Bonnefont, a small but very pretty, traditional French village lying on the banks of the River Baïse, between Toulouse and Lourdes. The neighbourhood has excellent weekly markets and very good local restaurants. It is in the department of the Hautes-Pyrenees and is close proximity to some really great scenery (Cirque de Gavarnie, Pont d'Espagne, Lac de Gaube, Les Laquettes, Pic du Midi, Grottes de Bettharam), cultural spots (such as the annual jazz festivals in Marciac and Saint Lary Soulan) and vineyards (Madiran, St Mont)! It is also well placed for adventurous activities such as skiing, kayaking and paragliding. Bonnefont is just over an hour from Spain and provides ready access to both the Atlantic Coast (2 hrs from Biarritz) and the Med (3 hrs from Narbonne).
