We bought La Petite Auberge in December 2021 to start our new life away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We are sociable and love to receive. We will be keen to ensure that your stay goes as well as possible and we will be happy to share all our good tips and beautiful addresses to enjoy our wonderful region.

La Petite Auberge is situated on the outskirts beautiful and bustling 13th Century Bastide town of Eymet and about 20kms south of Bergerac, which is on the Dordogne. It started life as a 17th Century Perigordine farm and was first converted into an Auberge in the early 1990s. Further changes over the last decade has meant that it now has 3 Gites that sleep up to 22 people! The main house, La Grande Maison, has now been converted into a fabulous large family Gite, that can sleep up to 15, Le Fournil sleeping up to 4, and Le Poulailler, sleeping 2. La Petite Auberge stands on a chalky outcrop on the edge of an ancient river valley. It has 1.5 acres of mature gardens with a swimming pool and over 4 acres of fields for strolling and playing in. There is even a small private fishing lake, where we have caught perch up to 2lbs. It has now been stocked with carp and tench. For those more energetic amongst you, there is a giant outdoor chess board, table tennis, boules/petanque pitch, badminton/volleyball and swingball as well as numerous bicycles for your use.

Eymet is located in the Dordogne, in South West France. It is a stunning town to visit, with a thriving central market square and situated on the banks of the Dropt River. The town, in its current form, dates from 1270, although the same location has been occupied during the earlier Roman and prehistoric eras. There is an abundance of different restaurants and bars in Eymet and surrounding areas as well as a summer night market in the different towns almost every night. There are several absolutely stunning Chateaus and vineyards close by and Bergerac old town is definitely worth a visit, whilst the Dordogne River offers plenty of canoeing and swimming activities too.
