If you are feeling a bit more energetic try out your boules skills on the petanque pitch under the magnificent oak tree, or hire a bike and explore the charming villages and towns within easy pedaling distance on quiet country lanes.

We’re Sarah and Paul and together with our three adopted French cats Noodle, Mango and Pepita, we welcome travellers from all over the world to share our little piece of paradise. Only five years ago we decided to up sticks and move from New Zealand, where we had lived for 10 years, to embark on a new adventure in France. Our dream was to create a peaceful and tranquil oasis surrounded by nature and wildlife and the goal was to provide an idyllic escape away from the noise and bustle of city life but with all the modern comforts of a luxury home. In other words it had to be a place where we would dream of spending a holiday. It is true to say that chasing the dream continues to be one big adventure with ongoing challenges along the way, the Pandemic being a big one, but the amazing feedback we receive from guests is heart warming and makes us realise that what we have achieved so far is truly wonderful. Charroux is our nearest town and only 5kms away. Discover the fascinating history of this important little town with its famous Charlamagne’s Tower and Benedictine abbey. Bike hire is available from Bike Hire Direct, book in advance and the bikes are delivered direct to the door. Kayaking on the majestic Vienne river in Confolens, only 20 minutes away. Parc du Futuroscope is a French theme park based upon multimedia, cinematographic and audio-visual techniques. A full day is recommended. La Vallee des Singes (Valley of the monkeys) is a wildlife park dedicated to respecting primates and their natural environment. Offering visitors a unique experience through full immersion into the fascinating world of primates.
