Property information

The Villa Guy is an architectural and landscaped witness of the prestigious history of Béziers, a summer city with prosperous wine-making activities. It's between 1868 and 1870 that is built , next to the arena, this vast house of Flemish style for a Swiss couple, on plans of the architect Léopold Carlier. In 1916, the Guy brothers, important wine-making owners from Beziers acquire this luxurious building, which will take then its definitive name of "Villa Guy". Furthermore, they acquire several plots of land of vineyards around the villa to establish a homogeneous land of approximatively one hectare. In 1918, the brothers decided to request the famous landscaped architect Forestier, to design a garden of English and neo-moorish style decorated with works of Injalbert and Magrou as well as a remarkable fountain tiled of azulejos.

Concerning City Situated in the city center of Béziers, you are 10 minutes on foot of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, the St Nazaire Cathedral, the Holy Madeleine Church, shops and restaurants. Just next to The Villa, discover the arenas of Béziers: bullfighting museum, at the top of the arenas, you have a very beautiful view on the city and the chapel of the toreros. Canal du Midi, Paul Riquet's work, is nearby : visit of 9 locks, slope of water and the canal bridge, bike ride, on foot, or by boat. In the steps of Injalbert: discover his works at The Villa Guy but also in the Plateau des poètes, in the district of the Cathedral and in the Fayet Museum. Cities to be visited: Pézenas and Narbonne in 20 min, or still Montpellier and Carcassonne in 45 min. Concerning Sea The closest beach is only 15 min by car. Discover fine sand beaches and ports as Valras, Sérignan, Vendres, Portiragnes, Cap d'Agde or Sète.
