Le Chêne Doux is in the annex to our house, where we live and work. The accommodation is on the first floor, private, with a separate entrance and has super views across our land and private lake. If you come and stay, you are welcome to take a stroll around the lake, dust off your fishing rod or watercolours and install yourself on one of the picturesque banks or in one of the quiet corners and relax for the day. Le Chêne Doux has a lovely living area, with sofa, table and 4 chairs and the possibility of making up 2 proper single beds. The bedroom area has a double bed, chest of drawers, hanging rail and TV. The kitchenette comprises a double electric hob, kettle, toaster, microwave and all the pots and pans, utensils to make and serve a meal. We have a travel cot with mattress available for babies. The apartment has a concrete spiral stairway (*can be difficult for people with reduced mobility) up from the private entrance door and a parking space just outside (see the photo). Wood floors throughout and hollofil bedding, no pets admitted (not even our cats!). Spacious, clean and tidy, we hope you enjoy your stay at Le Chêne Doux ☺︎

Hello, I hope you come and stay with us at Le Chêne Doux - just next to our home from where we run our woodwork/building business. We have 2 grown up kids, 3 cats and plenty of wonderful space. Time is taken up with work - woodwork and building, looking after our garden, land and lake, running fishing trips, a bit of travelling and friends. We are in the Limousin area of France, 5 minutes from Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche, a lush, green, rolling, rural landscape that feels calm and gives you the chance to catch your breath. The area is well known for its' porcelaine and enamelling, limousin beef and cul noir pigs, madeleines and apples and being on the route of Richard the Lion heart and also the Pilgrimage route to Compostela. Tranquil countryside, but not isolated - easy access to towns and pretty villages, modern conveniences and traditional style, chateaux and impressive gardens, markets, walking and cycling routes and loads to do in the summer months for families. The accommodation is equally suited to short breaks, overnight stays and work stop overs, there are plenty of restaurants in the nearby town if you don't fancy cooking.
