Old house renovated with style and natural building materials
We love nature, art and architecture. Marco builds furniture out of wood as his main business. He has been collecting LPs since the 1980's. Laura is also an amateur photographer and enjoys the wilderness, walking, cooking and visiting art exhibitions. We have a big black dog who loves to play and a talkative ginger cat that appears when the dog is asleep.
The house offers a lovely view of the Jura mountains. Challonges is a pleasant village on the top of a hill, with very friendly inhabitants. There are plenty of walks in the surroundings offering 360° views of the rural environment and the Alps on the Eastern side of the village, five minutes from our house. The river Rhône, that flows into the Mediterranean, originates in the Swiss alps and is situated at the bottom of the hill below our house. Challonges is on the ViaRhôna (Bis) cycling route to Seyssel. It is a first stop from Geneva, Switzerland, if you are a good cyclist, or a second stop on the way down to Lyon or to the Mediterranean Sea (Camargues or Sète)
