"Les Coustilles" is a typical French farmhouse style gite, which is well within walking distance on the edge of the picturesque village of Sainte-Alvere, Perigord Noir, Dordogne region, well known for its scenery and winter truffle market. We have one letting property at "Les Coustilles", which sits next to our main house, it has two bedrooms and is fully equipped. The main bedroom is upstairs and has 1 double bed and a double Sofa bed, so can sleep3, and has its own bathroom. Downstairs , there is 1 double bedroom and bathroom. The property has its own private terrace and is not overlooked by its neighbour. There is an 11.5 x 5.5 metre swimming pool, with a shallow end of 1 metre and a deep end of 2 metres, in two acres of secluded grounds to relax in.
Sainte-Alvere is a very tranquil and picturesque village, a village that was once dominated by a huge fortress, of which was destroyed during the revolution. The village is ideal, as although small, it has everything. As well as being a perfect place for exploring the Dordogne area, it has a Restaurant, Florist, Coffee Shop, Bar Tabac, Supermarket, Pharmacy, Cash Point, Post Office, Hairdressers, 2 Bakers, Petrol Station, Tourist Information and a Pizza man who serves the village on a Sunday night, and on Mondays there is a local market, with local products. In July/August, there are many events in the village, such as antique markets and evening markets selling local produce with live music.
