Quiet hilly area:
As a guest, you will feel like a true bird of paradise! Surrounded by beautiful and vast nature, it is quietly and secluded on a hillside with views and the shelter of an enveloping, idyllic and nostalgic courtyard (facing south) of a historic farmhouse from the 16th century. In the immediate vicinity you can enjoy unlimited hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking.
The Gîtes:
The two gîtes, "Le Rêveur" and "Le Bon Vivant" are located in an old "Stable", or a medieval stable, converted into a semi-detached house. The thick walls of the 2 spacious gîtes keep the heat out in the summer. In addition, there is a comfortable pellet stove for the winter season. Free Wi-Fi.
In addition to a spacious sitting and dining room, and a well-equipped kitchen, both gîtes of approximately 120m2 have 2 spacious bedrooms and 2 comfortable modern bathrooms. There is also a shared pool (12x6m), a nice Jeu-de-Pétanque court, a basketball net and a football goal on the site, so that children can also have a great time.
Folkert:
As a host, I would like to make sure that the guests lack nothing. The gîtes, the grounds and the swimming pool must be and remain in top condition. You can also contact me for all kinds of questions about the area.
Tineke:
Immersed in the hectic pace of hectic European life, as a psychosocial and body-oriented therapist, I know all too well the need of contemporary people for rest and also recharging. Recharging body and mind, food for the soul. Being on your own in peace or feeling inspired together with others, feeling relaxed and reborn again? And where better to find it than in the Dordogne? Peace and nature in a sheltered environment, an abundance of art, culture, history and sporting opportunities in the area.
And what do I want as a hostess? That you feel more than welcome! You feel at home and know that your questions, wishes are heard and seen. I am happy to make suggestions about sights or inspiring activities, so that you can look back on a wonderful stay.
Les Oiseaux de Paradis is located on the border of the history-rich Périgord Blanc and Périgord Noir. A 10-minute drive from the village of Vergt in the heart of France's most famous strawberry region and a 20-minute drive from Perigueux, the friendly capital of the Dordogne, with its medieval streets, cozy squares and the enchanting cathedral, towering over the city, located on the river l'Isle.
The Dordogne, or the Perigord, is also called the area with the thousand and one castles, many of which can still be visited. In addition, the Dordogne is known for its many caves (including Lascaux) and the rivers Vézère and Dordogne, where you can enjoy canoeing.
In addition, there are many beautiful old towns and nostalgic, romantic villages to admire, such as Sarlat, Les Eyzies, Monpazier, Montignac, Domme and many others.
Half an hour's drive to the south is the old town of Bergerac in the middle of the Périgord Pourpre, with its vast vineyards and associated "Domaines".
