Originally the stable for our Maison de Maître, the longère dates from 1875. It was renovated in 2024. With the original beams throughout it has been converted into a holiday home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room. There is a west-facing covered terrace and the use of our extensive gardens. For colder months there is a pellet burning stove and electric radiators throughout.

We are a Franco-British couple and Alain speaks some German. We moved here in 2019 to be nearer Alain’s parents and have since retired having been antiques dealers. We are interested in history and love Rouen, only 35 minutes away. We can suggest nice places to eat at all budgets and good addresses for local produce. There are many gardens to visit we can point you too as well as walks in the forest and environs of differing lengths.

Le Tronquay is a quiet village less than 3km from the bustling village of Lyons la Forêt. Lyons has the classification of being one of the ‘Plus beau Villages de France’ and has a choice of cafés, restaurants and shops while le Tronquay has a weekly visit from a pizza van, making pizzas to order. Five kms from the Longère is a supermarket at La Feuillie which covers all your needs. There is also a petrol station. The area is full of castles and chateaux to visit, along with pretty towns, the medieval city of Rouen and beautiful gardens. Monet’s garden at Giverny is 1 hour away.
