Château des Joncherets dates back to 1620, a glory period for French art, economy, and architecture. The buildings and gardens were designed and built by King Louis XIII’s royal squire and later, André Le Nôtre, King Louis XIV ‘s landscape architect. Built along the banks of the Avre River, this property’s canals, moats, ponds, and mature 17th-century trees create a veritable château experience!

Château owners Kate and Paul Mery de Bellegarde have over 15 years of hospitality, culinary, and event-planning experience. Having studied, worked, and lived between France and the US, they believe there is no idea too big or too crazy!

With only a 56-minute train ride from Paris’s Montparnasse station and a 60-minute drive from the Palace of Versailles, you will readily enjoy access to France’s gastronomy and culture as well as the culinary traditions and enchantment of the countryside! We also offer bikes, tennis racquets and balls for use at the nearby public courts. Picnic blankets and an outdoor picnic table are also available for your enjoyment!
