Room 1 on the First floor: Has a traditional French double bed and a dedicated desk space. Your ensuite bathroom features a toilet, washbasin, large walk in shower (120cm x 90cm), and heated towel rail. Room 2 on the Second floor: This room has characterful low beams over the bed and has a modern, open ended shaker style double bed, a dedicated desk space and your ensuite bathroom features a toilet, washbasin, a large (90cm x 90cm) enclosed glass shower, and heated towel rail. Both beds have hotel quality mattresses, mattress and pillow protectors and quality bed linens. Included in your stay: Towels Complimentary Shampoo and Shower gel and hand gel. Bathrobes Hairdryer Complimentary tea and coffee (Nespresso machine). An Iron & ironing board are available to use, just please ask if you would like to use it. A continental breakfast can be enjoyed either in the main kitchen/dining room or in the courtyard terrace (weather permitting). Fancy a lie in, no problem. We can make breakfast when you are ready (from 7am). Tell us the night before so we can plan. You are welcome to use our kitchen during your stay if you prefer to eat in, however there are restaurants nearby to dine in with a reservation (seasonal opening times apply). There is a pizza takeaway in the village (open Wednesday to Sunday only) and we would be happy to email you a menu if you would like to order your pizza ahead of time for your arrival. Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out our listing. We are a married couple who enjoy meeting new people and welcome you to our home in the Charente. We have a very friendly male dog, Gino, who is a neutered beagle. We accept small dogs (by prior arrangement) if they are friendly. This is available at no extra charge, however we do reserve the right to charge a cleaning fee should your pet make a mess on the carpet We are very social and friendly and have been described by friends as "the perfect hosts". We both enjoy walking our dog in the fields and vineyards which surround Tusson. We have travelled the world extensively and hope we have picked up enough good tips to make your stay an enjoyable one. As well as holidaying guests, we have had many prospective home buyers (of many nationalities) staying with us looking for a new life in France in the beautiful Charente area, either as a holiday home or permanent residence. We are more than happy to share our experience of moving to France, and hope we can provide you with enough information to help you too.

In Tusson we have a superb restaurant in the village, Le Compostelle, which if you are in the area, you should definitely treat yourself to. Gateaux, a delightful oasis of a coffee and cake shop which also sells flowers and gift vouchers too. There are two potteries selling perfect souvenir sized and larger pieces, and we also have two stained glass studios one of which runs classes on how to make stained glass windows, and the other is involved in the preservation and restoration of ancient stained glass windows. Our new bar, LE RÉVEIL TUSSONAIS, opened in August 2025 and has been a great addition to the village. It is a short 1 minute walk away from us, and is situated directly opposite the 12th century church. Please be respectful of the surrounding neighbours, and leave the bar quietly. Hiking can be enjoyed nearby, as the surrounding areas are fairly flat making it ideal for cyclists too. We have room in our barns for motorbikes or bicycles to be stored securely and safely. Maison Dix is 59km from Confolens, 43km from Angouleme and 16km from Ruffec and 17km from Verteuil-sur-Charente with it's magnificent Chateau. For the lovers of wine, Cognac and it's beautiful vineyards are about 50 minutes drive from us (49km), making it the perfect place to explore the beautiful Charente countryside. The property is well situated with quick access to several airports and train stations. Poitiers Airport - 50 minute drive Limoges Airport - 1.25 hour drive Bordeaux airport - 1.45 hour drive The TGV can be accessed from Angoulême (30 minute drive) which has links with Paris (1hr45) and Bordeaux (30 minutes) as well as countless other connections to Europe.
