Our mill is on the outskirts of the village of Champagne et Fontaine, in the Southwest of France. The Moulin La Vergne is a newly renovated 18th century water mill located on the river Lizonne.
Our location is quiet and rural, offering a peaceful and tranquil opportunity to recharge batteries and unwind.
We live on site, in the attached private house, with our dog Woody. Originally from the UK we have owned the property for nearly 20 years an have been renovating it. We love the tranquil location and welcoming guests to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Our nearest town is Villebois Lavelette, which boasts a medieval chateau of interest. Here you can also find our local supermarket, about a 12 min drive as well as cafes, restaurants, and a weekly food market.
Our immediate area is beautiful, rural countryside, great for walking and biking with stunning views. This is a place to reconnect with nature. Being on the river we attract many varieties of wildlife, including Deer, Boar, Corpu, as well as many wild birds.
Other towns of Aubeterre and Brantome are close by, with kayaking, paragliding and historical buildings.
