Converted Watermill barn. Situated just 4km from Jarnac and 10km from Cognac in the Grand Champagne Cognac region. The property is situated in a small friendly village with a boulangerie 200mtrs from the Gites. The complex consists of 4 gites with a large shared garden next to the river and the mill stream. The conversion was completed in 2016 and features a contemporary interior whilst maintaining the external character. Each gite has a fully equiped kitchen and large comfortable rooms. There is central heating through out to keep you toasty warm for winter breaks. Television in french and english, DVD and a dedicated WIFI is provided free of charge. Let this be your home away from home as you explore this beautiful region. The visit the nearby towns of Cognac and Jarnac to see how Cognac is produce and sample the product of course. Visit Angouleme, Saintes or head to beach at Royan.
Hi, we are Viv and Adam - '50 somethings' that moved to France because we love this country! We strive to offer value for money, cleanliness, welcoming hospitality and want nothing more than for our guests to have an experience that exceeds expectation. We are very basic with our French language skills but are students at the local 'salle de fete' and enjoy practicing (very badly) with our guests, neighbours and anyone that will help! We have two small dogs - Maui and Bertie and a very friendly cat - Tintin. Loving life, loving the hospitality business and enjoying meeting the most amazing people from all over the world. Location and accessability are real plus points, there is easy access to Jarnac, Cognac, Angouleme and Sainte by road and from Jarnac train station. Festivals are plentiful here with Cognac Blues Passion, Fete du Cognac, Bastille Day, World Music Day, Son Lumiere, The International Comic Strip Festival, Medoc Marathon, Cognac Marathon, cycling events and many cognac, wine and pineau houses and vineyards. We have a Michelin Restaurant - La Riibaudiere - just1km from the moulin and a great range of bars, cafes and restaurants in Jarnac, L'Alambic and La Comedie are personal favourites!
The Gites are situated in the small village of Veillard. There is a boulangerie about 200 metres away for your bread and breakfast croissants. Easy access to Jarnac (4km) and Cognac (10km) for all your shopping and banking needs. We are in the heart of the Grande Champagne du Cognac, so a tour and tasting at one of the Cognac houses is a must.
