When you’re done on the slopes, just ski directly back to the apartment. Nestled in the Portes du Soleil region, in the shadow of the world-famous Swiss Wall black run, the Twin Peaks apartment sits at 1,800m, with excellent snow coverage all season. So you’ll be able to roll out of bed and make first tracks from December to April. With 400 miles of piste to play with – the largest ski area in Europe – you’ll find slopes for all abilities, with several ski schools on your doorstep (literally - there’s one next door to the building entrance). Head higher up the mountains and you’ll find some infamously steep runs that’ll challenge even experienced skiers. Ski to Switzerland for lunch, down to Morzine, Les Gets or Chatel, all connected by 300 runs. Avoriaz is famous for its fantastical and avant-garde architecture, and hosted an iconic film festival for several decades, with the likes of Steven Spielberg and Brigitte Bardot attending. Twin Peaks sits right in the heart of the action – just step out of your door and you’ll find there’s plenty to keep you occupied. Non-skiers will be entertained too: an outdoor ice rink, carousel, bowling, cinema and spa sit at the centre of the village, with the tropical Aquariaz waterpark just across the piste. It’s also a great base for hiking and biking in the summer, with stunning views, great trails and great connections to the rest of the Alps.
