No 2 Peggies Barn is a fabulous three-bedroom stone-built barn conversion situated in the picturesque Lyvennet Valley, just 1.5 miles from both Maulds Meaburn and Kings Meaburn, 13 miles from Penrith and 10 miles from Appleby, with wonderful views of open farmland and grazing livestock. Spanning two floors with three double en-suite bedrooms and a large openplan living/dining/kitchen area. Note: 1 dog is permitted. A complimentary starter supply of wood, firelighters, and matches is provided for guests staying in the months of September to April, inclusive. This is usually sufficient for the first night. Contact details will be provided in your pre-arrival information for a local supplier should you wish to purchase more. No 1 Peggies Barn, next door, can be rented alongside No 2, but it is also rented out separately; as such, the gravel driveway is shared with the next-door guests when occupied. No EV charging. Parking for two cars.

Activities include off the beaten track country walks or a great network of quiet lanes for cycling. There is also a very well regarded pub (The White Horse) just under two miles away in Kings Meaburn
A Village Steeped in History
Maulds Meaburn's story stretches back to the 12th century when King Henry II divided the lands of Meaburn. One portion went to Sir Hugh de Morville, and the other to his sister, Maud de Veteripont. Sir Hugh's favour waned, leading the King to reclaim his land, which became known as King's Meaburn. Maud's land, however, remained hers; thus, Maulds Meaburn was born. The village has passed through various families over the centuries, adding layers to its unique heritage. It is a lovely spot to relax with the River Lyvvenet running through the meadowland that separates the two parts of the village.
