Take a break and unwind at this peaceful cottage, located in the charming village of Treknow, 10 minutes walk to the golden sands at Trebarwith Strand, North Cornwall.
This former tin miners cottage has been recently renovated, with care taken to retain the original features such as slate floors in the kitchen. It features two full bathrooms in addition to three comfortable bedrooms- the super king size bed in the main bedroom can be converted on request to 2 full size single beds. There is a living room with two sofas and a woodburning stove downstairs - this is open plan to the well equipped kitchen, including Nespresso machine, and dining area. This also has its own small wood burner, as well as central heating of course! There is also a games room/study as a separate area with a sofa where you can enjoy a quiet read, as well as a good supply of games including Monopoly and Scrabble for family evenings in.
Enjoy elevated views across the Cornish countryside and a dramatic rock backdrop in the enclosed garden which has garden furniture, secure storage for bikes and bodyboards for beach days.
I love to travel myself and I'm very happy to be able to host travellers in our peaceful haven in Cornwall - I hope you love it as much as we do.
I was born and brought up in the South West of England and currently work at Bristol Airport. Holidaying in Cornwall over the years has given me an understanding of what guests appreciate, and I make sure that I am on hand 24/7 to deal with any queries you may have. I also have a great support team locally to help during your stay if needed. I can provide you with a wealth of information and recommendations to help you make the most of your stay if you aren't familiar with the area - I'm confident you will love it.
1, Rock Cottages is situated in the picturesque, sleepy village of Treknow, which has two pubs/restaurants 'The Mill House' and 'The Port William' within walking distance.
From the cottage you can follow the path through fields down to Trebarwith Strand, 10 mins walk with a sandy beach at low tide, a stunning location that welcomes dogs all day, all year-round. The Port William pub and restaurant overlooks the beach and you can enjoy dramatic sea views from the terrace.
Set off on a journey along the cliff path to the nearby village of Tintagel (2 mile walk), where you can explore the ruins of its magnificent castle, and enjoy lunch in one of the cafes.
Explore the dramatic coastline, with the South West Coastal path a few minutes walk away and many other local walks to be discovered, or take a day trip to Wadebridge, where you can take a stroll along the Camel Trail, a disused railway line now reclaimed for walkers and cyclists to enjoy. Port Isaac, Boscastle, Bude, and Padstow are all easily accessible by car, and there are plenty of beaches to discover en route.
Bodmin Moor is also a good location for those who enjoy walking and would like to explore inland.
