Comfortably sleeping 4 this home away from home, is within easy reach of all the local amenities.

Neighbourhood information

Kirkcudbright offers numerous opportunities for eating out with The Garret and The Selkirk Arms Hotel just a short stroll from the door. If you prefer to eat in then why not sample some of the excellent local produce available at the many independent shops to be found in the town. There is also a very popular Farmers Market held on the 4th Sunday of each month with between 20 & 30 stalls full of all sorts of goodies from cheese to seafood, Beer to pies. You can see why Kirkcudbright is such a tasty place to visit! Farmers & Producers markets are a regular feature through the area so there will generally be one within a short drive if you stay falls on an alternative week. This town is a must for all art lovers with numerous Art Galleries including the prestigious Kirkcudbright Galleries with its visiting exhibitions, and NTS Broughton House and garden, the former home of E.A Hornel there is plenty to see and paint. With the Dark Space Planetarium, the Wee Pottery and the community run Swimming Pool there is something for everyone even on the inclement days. Throughout the summer months there is a full and varied calendar of events organised by the Summer Festivities committee which include popular Scottish Nights on a Thursday evening cumulating with a Tattoo at the end of August. There are numerous nearby attractions and activities for both adults and children, The Cocoa Bean Chocolate Factory offers both indoor and outdoor play areas and chocolate making workshops. For the more active there are plenty of walking and cycling opportunities be it coastal, hill or forest; numerous sandy coves and beaches cry out to be explored; The Galloway Forest Park, nominated Britain’s first Dark Sky Park is within easy reach and offers spectacular opportunities for star gazing. Being Scotland golf is never far away, and the town boasts an 18 hole course with many others within a short drive.
