🌿 Welcome to 24 The Zen Den – Your Peaceful Cumbria Escape After moving to Cumbria five years ago, I quickly fell in love with the calm pace of life here. Gone are the busy town roads — now the only traffic jams I meet are cows or sheep! The lodge sits just outside the lovely village of Armathwaite, home to the beautiful River Eden. There’s a gorgeous woodland walk right along the river, perfect for dogs (and humans!) who love to explore. You’ll also find a traditional pub, The Fox & Pheasant, plus a little shop and post office for your essentials. If you fancy venturing a bit further, Wetheral Village offers peaceful riverside walks, a waterfall, and a touch of ancient monk history. The Cumbrian coast, Carlisle Castle, and Hadrian’s Wall are all within easy reach — and being close to the Scottish border makes it a great stopover for north–south travels. The site itself is quiet, well-kept, and surrounded by nature — a lovely spot to relax, reset, and just breathe. The site is easy to find, just off the A6, and perfectly placed between Penrith and Carlisle, making it ideal for exploring the area — or simply stopping over on your travels north or south. We’re open 24/7, 365 days a year, so there are no restrictions on arrival times — come and go as you please, and settle in whenever you’re ready.
