Nestled in a quiet crofting village, 6 Calbost is a modernised Croft-house with spectacular views across Loch Dubh and over the Minch to the mountains on the mainland. Its peaceful and secluded location, and the shelter of an enclosed garden, make 6 Calbost the perfect place to getaway for a holiday. It is the ideal base to explore the stunning landscape, whether you are a keen walker,cyclist,or kayaker,or you prefer to discover more of the island by car. There is a beautiful pebble beach within easy walking distance where you can see an abundance of wildlife including the occasional otter. Excellent fishing is available in the area, and great opportunities for the ornithologist with a diversity of migratory and resident species.Free Wi-Fi is available but please bear in mind the location.

We are so lucky to be able to enjoy the extraordinary beauty of the area of South Lochs. Our own work and life here is shaped by a love for the natural environment and the incredible biodiversity that surrounds us. We produce as much of our own food as possible and can usually be found outside or in one of our poly-tunnels! On arrival, you will be welcomed with some home baking and fresh eggs. The village of Calbost lies on the east coast of Lewis within the Pairc district .The village is approximately 30 miles (or 48km) from the main town of Stornoway. There is a small shop at Ravenspoint, Kershader 7 miles (or 11km) selling basic provisions. A 24-hour fuel pump is also available here.(Please note all local shops and services are closed on Sundays, apart from self service fuel pump). A local shuttle bus can be pre-booked to connect with main bus service to either Stornoway or Tarbert. There is a fast EV charger in Balallan 13 miles (or 22km) and a rapid charger in Stornoway.
