Achnacriche is located within Drimnin Estate on Scotland’s dramatic Morvern coast, one of Scotland’s best-kept secrets. A hidden paradise blessed with a rugged coastline, ancient woodland, heather moorland, rich pastures, undisturbed by traffic, and a haven for wildlife, including pine martens and otters.
The House was once a drover's inn on the route from Loch Sunart and Doirlinn, and while still retaining its historic feel, it has been lovingly renovated and now has spacious facilities for guests.
It has two premium bedrooms with wonderful views of the sea and the Isle of Mull. Guest rooms have free WIFI, a TV, a luxury private bathroom, and a welcoming hospitality tray with tea, coffee, biscuits and water.
The guest living room overlooks the garden and the fireplace provides character and is a lovely place to cosy up in winter, a table with a chessboard, and satellite TV. The guests can also enjoy a hearty breakfast and delicious evening meal in Achnacriche’s garden room restaurant with views of the sea, the Isle of Mull, and the gardens, where red and roe deer frequently come by to greet our visitors.
Zuzana, my partner, and I are the hosts of Achnacriche Bed & Breakfast. Zuzana is from the Czech Republic and I was born in Mozambique.
We are a young couple, both graduated in Hotel management and with experience working in Luxury accommodations in Europe and the USA. At Achnacriche we blend modernity with the traditional and elegant history of the Scottish Highlands to create unforgettable memories for everyone who visits us.
We love the sea, nature, and wildlife but most of all, we love to share it with others while providing a luxury service of accommodation, food, and beverage.
We are on the boundary of Drimnin Estate which lies at the end of the public road, jutting into the Atlantic but sheltered between Ardnamurchan to the north and the Isle of Mull to the south, The Estate occupies 7,000 acres of the western tip of the little-known Morvern peninsula.
Morvern's 160 thousand acres are surrounded by the sea for almost all of its boundary, except along Glen Tarbert. It has a population of approx 320.
Combining rugged coastline, ancient woodland, heather moorland, and rich pastures, undisturbed by the traffic it is a haven for wildlife, and those who love history, nature, and solitude.
Guests also have shared access to all the facilities of the Estate, including mountain bikes and brown trout fishing.
Find out about the art of making the very best single malt whisky at Nc'nean Distillery, the new organic craft distillery here on the Estate.
