With walks from the door, a private garden and a dog friendly pub just a 10 minute walk away (oh and 3 more in Ashover village just a mile away!), Acorn Cottage is a great family and dog friendly base for a visit to glorious Derbyshire. On the farm you may get up close to the livestock by prior arrangement and help with feeding and caring for them - the donkeys and goats especially love visitors.

Acorn Cottage lies in the small hamlet of Brockhurst, just a mile from the village of Ashover. The lanes leading to the Cottage are small and quiet, and the nearest pub serving food is just 10 minutes walk away, with 3 others in the village 25 minutes walk away. There are plenty of walks from the door to suit all abilities, and pretty Peak District villages close by. The historic market towns of Bakewell and Buxton are less than half an hour away by car - make sure you sample the traditional Bakewell Pudding! There are so many historic and more modern attractions to visit nearby that we're sure you'll find plenty to occupy you during your stay at Acorn Cottage, whatever your preferences and ages! As well as the 4 village pubs, we have restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets within a 20 minute drive, including AA Rosette restaurants, Italian, Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurants, pizzas, burgers, fish & chips and everything in between!
