Everything we need for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Quite secluded location with many excellent facilities like the wood burning hot tub, comfortable beds, log fire and fire pits outside. Properties was immaculate...

Escape to Roe Deer Lodge, a peaceful countryside retreat tucked away in the enchanting valley of Littlebeck, just 4 miles from Whitby on the edge of the North York Moors. Surrounded by woodland, wildlife, and birdsong, it’s the perfect place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy pure peace and privacy. Handcrafted with care, the lodge blends rustic charm with modern comfort. Step inside to discover a welcoming open-plan living space featuring a super comfy reclining sofa, a wood-burning stove, and soft ambient lighting — ideal for cosy evenings after exploring the coast or walking through the moors. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for relaxed self-catering, and the dining area offers lovely views across the meadow. The bedroom is beautifully furnished with a comfortable double bed, soft bedding, and natural textures for a restful night’s sleep. The stylish bathroom includes a spacious shower and fluffy towels. Outside, you’ll find your own private wood-fired Scandinavian hot tub, where you can soak under the stars surrounded by nature. Watch roe deer wander through the woodland at dawn and listen to owls calling at dusk — this is a true rural escape. Roe Deer Lodge is ideally located for exploring Yorkshire’s stunning coastline. Visit Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay, and Staithes, all within 6 miles, or take a nostalgic trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway from nearby Goathland. Whether you’re looking for adventure, romance, or simply time to recharge, Roe Deer Lodge at Alum House Littlebeck offers a tranquil sanctuary in one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful settings.
Hi, I’m Michelle! I run Alum House Littlebeck Glamping, home to Roe Deer Lodge and our beautiful Lotus Belle Tents, just outside Whitby. I love welcoming guests to this peaceful woodland spot where you can unwind, explore, and enjoy nature. I aim to make every stay special — from cosy touches to your wood-fired hot tub ready for a perfect Yorkshire escape.
Discover Littlebeck & Falling Foss Waterfall Tucked away in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, Littlebeck is a hidden gem — a tranquil valley where ancient woodland, winding streams, and peaceful footpaths create a true sense of escape. The pretty hamlet is surrounded by lush countryside, alive with birdsong and deer, and is perfect for walkers, photographers, and nature lovers alike. One of the area’s highlights is the Littlebeck to Falling Foss walk, a scenic woodland trail that follows the bubbling beck through enchanting beech and oak woods. Along the way, you’ll pass The Hermitage, a tiny cave carved into sandstone by a monk in the 18th century, before reaching the breathtaking Falling Foss Waterfall — a spectacular 30-foot cascade tumbling into a shaded glen. Just above the falls you’ll find the Falling Foss Tea Garden, a delightful outdoor tearoom set in the garden of Midge Hall cottage. It’s the perfect place to rest, enjoy homemade cakes, scones, and a pot of tea while listening to the sound of the waterfall and the rustle of the trees. Littlebeck is also part of the Coast to Coast walking route, so you may spot hikers passing through on their journey across England. Whether you’re seeking a gentle stroll, a woodland adventure, or simply a moment of peace beside the water, Littlebeck and Falling Foss promise something truly special — a magical corner of Yorkshire that stays with you long after you leave.
